The Archie Comic Dress
Created in a whirlwind of quarantine madness, The Archie Comic Dress is a representation of nostalgia and the process of maturing.
❖ Archie Comics were part of many of our childhoods and evoke a warm sense of nostalgia in many.
❖ The dress’ ruffles tend toward childish but its sleek shape and purse are mature; a testament to the confusing stage of life that is one’s late teens.
The dress was created by gluing cut-up Archie Comics to a base from a thrifted blouse.
❖ It was constructed on a pillow as the dress form (a cheap solution to my lack of resources during the pandemic).
❖ The purse was made by adding comic pages and a strap to a fake book that I had lying about.

The Belle Ballgown
The Belle Ballgown (the dress worn by Belle during her dance with the Beast during Beauty and The Beast) had several iterations before it reaches its final form.
Over several years it evolved from a ribbon-covered yellow disaster to a gold skirt with a less-than-exciting blouse to now, its final form..probably.
It was made with gold curtains and zip ties as boning in the bodice.
The Belle Ballgown is available for rent/display.
